Had a ridiculously lucky break with the weather yesterday where I was able to wear my reconstructed shorts out again without having my legs turn into “thighsicles”. The sun was out and there was no snow being thrown around in the wind– quite the treat from the usual winter weather!

I know I was on a shopping ban until 2011, but I bought this shirt on boxing day. I couldn’t help myself! It was on sale for $4 and I really wanted an oversized shirt that I could eat, sleep and lounge around in… not that I wear my clothes to do all of these things but it’s good to have one shirt for multiple purposes! I bought the shirt two sizes larger hoping that the boatneck neckline would end up being much bigger and off-the-shoulder, but the shirt is still quite fitted. I would’ve tried it on before making my purchase but you can only imagine what the line up for the change room looked like on boxing day. No thanks!

outfit details: top – Bluenotes | camisole – American Eagle | tights & socks – Target | shorts & necklace – self made | boots – Urban Planet

My favorite part of the outfit is probably the necklace. I bought a couple of large, antique-finished skeleton keys over the holidays and made a few necklaces. This one’s my favorite. It’s a simple antique brass finish on a gold chain and has already been paired with a bunch of my plain t-shirt and jeans outfits.
